Overview

Sephora partnered with Rare Beauty to launch an in-store activation that would elevate beauty discovery and deepen shopper engagement. Aircards was tasked with building a custom AR Magic Mirror experience that blended real-time AR try-on with premium fabrication, helping Sephora bring beauty-tech innovation directly into its retail spaces.

Our intervention

We designed, engineered, and deployed custom-built AR Magic Mirror kiosks for Sephora. The experience used real-time face tracking to let shoppers try on Rare Beauty products virtually, receive personalized contouring guides, and capture branded photo moments. Each unit was fabricated in-house by Aircards’ Workshop team for a seamless retail fit.

Conclusion

The Sephora Magic Mirror campaign generated thousands of try-ons across multiple flagship locations, delivering rich engagement analytics and high conversion from “likely to see” to “engaged.” Shoppers spent meaningful time experimenting with looks, and the campaign positioned Rare Beauty as a category leader in beauty-tech innovation.
