Aircards announces today that it has partnered with Print Cakes, to provide app-less Augmented Reality cupcakes for corporate events.
Print Cakes bake cupcakes and decorate them with edible printed cupcake toppers that are personalised with a logo or other image. With the help of Aircards, Print Cakes now plan on bringing these to life with an Augmented Reality experience embedded on the cupcake.
Print Cakes have baked thousands of branded and personal cupcakes over the years and are industry specialists. All printed cupcakes are made using real ingredients by real people, and they have an impressive roster of high-profile corporate clients, including the likes of Virgin Money, Aldi, Sage, Adidas and PWC.
This new partnership enables Print Cakes to add a layer of interactivity to their corporate cupcake offering, allowing brands to deliver engaging AR experiences that are activated through scanning the top of the cupcake. Smart image detection software recognises the graphic printed onto the cupcake and displays a personal video message or 3D animation.
Crucially, the AR is all completely web based - meaning simply that the user doesn’t have to download an app to view the experience - it all happens in the mobile web browser of any standard iOS or Android smartphone.
Brands can use AR cupcakes to deliver an on-brand corporate message to their own employees, or indeed as an experiential marketing campaign to potential clients.
