Metalitix data collection notice
The policy for the Metalitix platform, as published on metalitix.com. Last updated 12.01.2022.
Data Collection
How Metalitix® tracks data, and what it tracks:
During a user playthrough of a 3D spatial experience, Metalitix® collects "data points." By default, a data point is sent once a second.
Developers can choose when to begin recording data or when to stop. However, data collection stops once the user closes the 3D experience and does not persist during other device activities.
While Metalitix® does not collect personal information such as address or image captures, it is up to the developers using Metalitix® to confirm and communicate that their experience complies with local privacy laws.
A full breakdown of data collected by the Metalitix Loggers is available in the table below.
| Name | Description | Example Data |
|---|---|---|
| Redacted IP Address | Session IP address is used only to determine the session’s country. By default, the server automatically obtains an anonymized IP address (x.x.x.0) to calculate the country. IP addresses are never saved. | 11.22.33.0 => United States of America |
| Timestamp | Date and time of each data point | 12 January 2023, 5:45.135 PM |
| URL | The website the user accesses the experience through | https://my-ar-experience.com/my-experience |
| User Agent | Device, browser, operation system, and their versions | Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 13_2_3 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/13.0.3 Mobile/15E148 Safari/604.1 |
| Position | Coordinates representing the user's virtual location within the 3D virtual experience | { x: 0.5, y: 3.4, z: 1.2 } |
| Direction | Rotation representing the user’s virtual viewing angle within the 3D virtual experience | { x: 0.2, y: -0.3, z: 1 } |
| Field of View | The observable extent, in degrees, of the virtual camera | 60 degrees |
| Aspect Ratio | The ratio of width to height of the virtual camera | 4:3 |
| Near Plane | Closest virtual position to the virtual camera that can be rendered | z=0 |
| Far Plane | Farthest virtual position to the virtual camera that can be rendered | z=1000 |
| FPS | Frames per second from the device used to indicate device performance. On mobile, 30 FPS or higher is good while on desktop 60 FPS or higher is good. | 33 fps |
| Engagement | A 1-5 rating by the user supplied through an optional engagement survey aimed at gauging user sentiment | Engagement Level: 5 |
